Nearly time for carpet and wood flooring

Well, it's been a very quiet week, but some progress was made on Friday and on Saturday!

On Friday, the two ensuite tiles were replaced, and on Saturday, the bathroom ceilings were painted.

Also on Saturday, a carpenter was by and finished off the walk-in robes. The nice thing about these robes is that the rail is removable without ripping into the wall - a nice surprise, as we intend to install after-market shelving custom-fit to the space.

As I drove past at lunchtime, the same cleaners van was still there, but 2 big waste bins were in the front of the property, no doubt a digger will be arriving soon to remove the rubbish from the front! YAY!

A big update tonight no doubt - and I'll show you how I get in every day.

Latest on progress

Met with the Site Supervisor this morning.

He confirmed that final walk-through and handover are not far off.

Items he mentioned -

• mix-up with the shower screens, so they've being re-made.
• The single remaining soft-close pot drawer is yet to be delivered.
• confirmed Sentinel doesn't install until we say so, after handover
• re-tiling in ensuite to occur due to wrong shower rose fitted
• painters coming back to do all bathroom cornices and the blue-spot errors marked
• cleaners booked in for next Monday (18th March).
• Handover occurs shortly after the clean above
• After handover we can start on the landscaping

Kitchen drawers re-installed today + bathroom update

Drove past this morning, and saw 2 utes in the front, the fence and gate was open, so thankfully, someone is alive at Masterton. We're hopeful it is Sentinel, there to finish off the network, speaker and TV cabling.

Yesterday, we noted that the ensuite shower fitting has been taken away, and 'replace' has been scrawled on 2 wall tiles. It's only taken 2 weeks...

Here's a close-up of the garage door brand. I quickly removed this sticker. We don't unnecessary advertising on the house, now do we?

Tap fittings in ensuite. Again, they are not what we ordered. Something for the site supervisor next week.

UPDATE! Nope, just the kitchen drawers re-installed. They originally installed regular drawers, but our tender always said soft-close. That'll cost 'em!

Shelving installed today

Well, after absolutely no action since last Thursday, the carpenters have been through to install the shelving in pantry, laundry, and all bedrooms. They haven't quite finished the walk-in robe as yet. I'm sure that is soon also.

Thursday morning 7/3 update: Nothing done since the shelving above was installed. Still waiting for them to come back and finish this job, along with the Sentinel work. I'm so sweating on how well they are going to do the cabling in the garage...

Scaffolding finally removed and major electrical installation day!

Just one point of activity yesterday. The scaffolding was removed.

Drove past this morning (Thurs), and I think the electrician was working away, as it seemed he was working on something above the front door, likely the sensor installation?

Friday update - no-one there today, as usual on a Friday.

Tuesday 5/3 morning update. No-one has been onsite since last Thursday.

The only things left to do are -

1) rectify the shower head in ensuite to rain-head (and the associated re-plumb & tiling)
2) paint the ceilings/cornices in bathrooms
3) paint the errors marked with blue tape
4) Sentinel to come back to finish CAT6+aerial wiring
5) Electrical pole to be installed and channelled through yard.
6) massive site clean and removal of waste bin and toilet

Then hand-over to us should occur at which point we basically project manage -

1) installation of air-conditioning exterior unit
2) installation of 3-phase connection to power pole and wiring of meter
3) installation of kitchen appliances
4) installation of DUX hot water system
5) installation of wood flooring to ground floor
6) installation of carpet to 1st floor

Garage Door installed

As a surprise, the garage door was installed today. Not the motor, just the rails and the door itself.

Looks like a floor sander has gone around all the wood floors upstairs also, in preparation for carpet I guess.  Bath-tubs installed. The spout in the ensuite doesn't reach the bath... piss-poor planning.

Weird vents have appeared, directly below the s-bend for the bath-tubs in the upstairs bathrooms. Is this normal, or just fucked-up piss-poor planning. Either way, it's as dodgy a thing as I've ever seen -

Baths are finally in. Main is full of water, I suspect for bedding, but the ensuite isn't as the spout doesn't reach! IDIOTS!
