Mostly a prep/layout day today for the brickies. They placed little piles of bricks on all sides of the house and reservoirs of supplies inside.
Also of note, the water is connected and all cold water pipes are live. We have a small leak upstairs which I hope will be fixed soonest.
Here's the bunch of bricks at the front of the house - must've had more delivered!
Brickie supplies and signs of a leak from upstairs!
ramps and bricks, inside the house
the first wall under construction!
close-ups of the first brick wall!
side of the brick wall and the new roof trussing now craned up on top of the 1st floor frame.
Gear for roof trusses and the leak culprit, a slow leaking plastic pipe - they don't use copper for cold and hot water anymore - people steal it!
All the water pipes now have plastic caps fitted, so they don't leak. Undid one slightly, and it certainly had water in it.
Some kind of small access box with a square lock key inside. Can anyone tell me what this is for? They've also craned up and supported the central garage I-beam - the one the door will hang off.
Other side of I-beam, and the temporary water mains connection shown below
Another view of bricks!
