Cornices in Bathrooms completed

The plasterers sneaked in on Saturday morning and put cornices into every bathroom.

The painters will have to come back to paint these over - not sure why they didn't wait until this, but I won't complain.

Next up, electrician and shower screens!

Sorry for the crappy photos, the lighting was awful.

Drove by this morning (Monday) and found 3 trucks with people working away, at my lunch-break. Will update the blog with photos tonight. Willing to bet the electricians are there - perhaps the verandah railing was being installed? Couldn't see.

Final day of tiling

Tiling finished today, I estimate it took them 4.5 days of work, interdispersed over a 2 week period. Plus they stole all our excess tiles of which there were many boxes. I'm calling them today.

First up though, upon walking in, I see the toilets have finally been delivered!

 Tiling completed at upstairs verandah and front door. There is a little raised tiled section as it connects to each respective door. Same at the alfresco (unpictured) -

Hmm.. the carpenters must've sneaked in and installed the kitchen vent (on the eaves near the alfresco) -

The plumber has been by in the last few days and finished the down-pipes, and had them painted. Same all around the house. But the real highlight is the right photo, which shows the plumber has done some work on the outside shower. This wasn't in contract, so it's a bonus, however ugly it is.

Another day of tiling

Lots of fiddly tiling work done today, particularly around the laundry, alfresco, front door and verandah.

The gyprock guys called by also to box in the overhead beam in the garage.

 Upon swinging by this morning (Wed 20/2), there's one truck - the tiler - there. Likely just finishing off the grout on 2 bathrooms. We expect walk-through/PCI to be just less than 1 month away.

The tilers finally came back today. They tiled the front portico area and 1st level verandah. They also finished off the bathroom tub bases, wall tiles and feature tiles. Back again tomorrow I hope to grout the tiles and the surrounds around verandah and alfresco and they should be done.

 Update: upon driving past Tues 19/2, the same 2 tilers truckers were working away, so all going to plan. Another update tonight!

Weekend Update

Here's the wrap-up for the latter half of the week.

Painting for all intents was finished, including staining, repairs and final coats. On Friday, the solar tube people came by and installed one into the walk-in robe - completely changes the look.

Tiling stalled this week. They did 2 days the week previous and never came back.

The funniest thing this week - the painters reinstalled the builders locks onto the doors, but fitted the garage door lock the wrong way around, so anyone could just walk in. Crazy.
