We're stuck at handover, due to mix-ups between the bank and Masterton.
The bank insists that they need certification from Masterton saying the house is complete. But Masterton won't complete until after we pay handover amounts - entails carpet, Sentinel wiring, hot-water-system, air conditioning. Quite ridiculous! It's now been two weeks since PCI. We're finally seeing some movement from the bank, but likely won't have the keys until mid-next-week.
6:00pm UPDATE - the bank got over whatever their problem was and paid the final amount. Good to go. We've got lots to do, and should have the keys early next week. More info soon!
Here's all the photos I have up until this morning.
Here's the digging of the gas trench. This one went around the power and stormwater runs, thank the gods -
Here's the weird plastic gas piping they use these days, and the warning overlay -
Another trench photo, and the resulting gas meter has been installed, but not connected yet -
Panoramic of the Great Room and kitchen - finished, apart from Sentinel wiring on the back wall -
The kitchen island, finally with all handles and middle pot-drawer (soft-close) installed, and look, they've welded a pole on the stair-case bannister so it doesn't bash against the pole anymore - happy! -
Slight panoramic of the Media Room, downstairs. We're going to make this into two rooms eventually -
Here's something I've got onto - Weep-guard - to block little creatures getting into the house via the weep holes brickies leave in bricks these days - they are everywhere! Anyway, these weepguards come in 5 different colours. I chose grey. They are $15 for 10 at Bunnings. Looking for cheaper pricing -
An original weep-hole, and then a photo with one installed -
Here's a typical weep-hole covered over. What do you think? Look ok? -
Took a ladder and peeked into the roof. Found the insulation hasn't been fitted as yet. But all the fly-screens have! -
I'll be adding a video walk-through taken on the weekend shortly. Enjoy the weekend all!
